Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City: Another battle between Enrique and Guardiola

Wednesday’s match is not just a meeting of two European football giants but also a showdown between two of the most iconic managers in modern football—Luis Enrique of PSG and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City.
Enrique and Guardiola have faced each other four times before, with both winning two matches. However, Enrique holds a slight edge in the overall head-to-head results.
Their first meeting was in the semi-finals of the 2014-15 Champions League. Guardiola was managing Bayern Munich, while Enrique led Barcelona. Barcelona won the first leg 3-0 at Camp Nou, and though Bayern won the second leg 3-2 at the Allianz Arena, Barcelona advanced 5-3 on aggregate.
In the 2016-17 season, the two managers met again in the group stage of the Champions League. Enrique’s Barcelona secured a 4-0 home win in the first leg at Camp Nou, but Guardiola’s Manchester City responded with a 3-1 victory in the return leg.
Enrique has managed to win both home matches against Guardiola. He will aim to add another win when PSG host City at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
