Brentford ended Manchester City’s bid for a third straight Premier League victory with a late 2-2 draw on Tuesday in the 21st round of the English Premier League.
Phil Foden scored both goals for the Sky Blues in the 66th and 78th minutes, while Yoan Wissa and Christian Norgaard netted Brentford’s goals in the 82nd and 90+2nd minutes.
City now has 35 points and sits in sixth place, while Brentford moves up to 28 points, holding the tenth spot.
First Half: Missed Chances
Brentford started strong, with Wissa firing a shot inside the box, but the ball narrowly missed the left post.
City responded through Gvardiol, whose low effort lacked power and was easily caught by Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega kept City safe with a fine save, stopping Bryan Mbeumo’s ground strike heading for the far corner.
Erling Haaland came close, meeting a Kevin De Bruyne cross with a header that missed the post, while Mateo Kovacic sent a low effort wide.
Haaland later received a pass from De Bruyne and shot from the edge of the box, but his attempt landed straight into Flekken’s gloves. The half ended goalless.
Second Half: End-to-End Action

The Bees almost took the lead early in the second half when Collins’ header went just wide.
Savinho, on a counterattack, unleashed a low shot from the left flank, but the post denied City their opener.
Minutes later, Mbeumo missed a big chance, firing over the bar from inside the box, while Haaland’s header was comfortably saved by Flekken.
Ortega stayed sharp, saving a long-range effort from Vitaly Janelt, while Savinho’s attempt from outside the box struck the side netting.
Brentford thought they had scored through Mikkel Damsgaard, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
Foden Strikes Twice

City broke the deadlock in the 66th minute when Foden met a De Bruyne cross with a precise finish. His shot hit the post before finding the net.
Brentford nearly equalized after Ortega misjudged a ball, but Nathan Aké cleared it off the line, keeping City ahead.
City doubled their lead in the 78th minute when Foden reacted quickly to a rebound, firing it past Flekken.
Late Drama
Brentford refused to give up. Wissa pulled one back in the 82nd minute, converting a cross into the net.
Flekken then kept Brentford in the game with a superb save to deny Savinho a third goal for City.
In stoppage time, Christian Norgaard stunned City with a header that Ortega could only deflect into the net, securing a dramatic draw for Brentford.
