Press reports have revealed a surprising possibility involving Cristiano Ronaldo, the striker for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese star is reportedly open to leaving his current team to make a return to the English Premier League, with a shocking potential destination—Manchester City.

The “Daily Express” reports that Ronaldo is willing to upset fans of his former club, Manchester United, to secure a move to City’s squad. The idea of working under Pep Guardiola and helping the team recover from their current struggles has reportedly sparked his interest.

Reports suggest Ronaldo is eager to help Manchester City overcome their poor form and lead them to success in domestic and European competitions. His enthusiasm to be part of such a project seems evident.

During the recent “Globe Soccer” Awards ceremony, reporters asked Ronaldo if he would consider helping Manchester City salvage their season. While he did not provide a definitive answer, he hinted at the possibility, stating, “In football, you never know what will happen in the future.” When pressed further, Ronaldo laughed and added, “This is not a no answer,” leaving the door open for speculation.

Ronaldo’s Interest in Joining Manchester City

When asked about his interest in joining Manchester City, Ronaldo refrained from giving a straightforward response but kept the possibility alive with his ambiguous remarks.

In 2021, reports heavily linked Ronaldo with a move to City after he decided to leave Juventus. However, Pep Guardiola reportedly blocked the deal, and the Portuguese forward ultimately returned to Manchester United. During his second stint with the Red Devils, Ronaldo played 54 matches across all competitions and scored 27 goals before leaving in a controversial manner to join Al-Nassr.

Manchester City isn’t currently showing interest in signing Ronaldo, who is nearing his 40th birthday, but the “Madeira Rocket” may still dream of this move. A move to City would also give him a chance to participate in the Club World Cup, where his longtime rival Lionel Messi will compete with Inter Miami.

Manchester City has been drawn into Group Seven of the 2025 Club World Cup, alongside Wydad Casablanca, Al Ain, and Juventus. Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen to join this tournament, either with Manchester City or another team.
