Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that English winger Marcus Rashford will return to man united after finishing his loan with Aston Villa. But staying at Old Trafford looks unlikely, especially as Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim plans to make major decisions this summer after evaluating the whole squad.
Romano also said that Rashford is open to joining any club that can pay £40 million, which is around €48 million. This price is close to his estimated market value of €50 million, as shown on Transfermarkt.
Romano explained that the buy option in Rashford’s loan deal with Villa also applies to other clubs. So, any club that offers what man united want can sign the player. At the moment, not many clubs seem to show serious interest, but the door remains open.
Rashford hopes to play for Barcelona, and the club now holds the key.

Rashford will look at every offer in the summer or even earlier to decide where he wants to go next. Aston Villa and Barcelona both want him, but the English forward would prefer to move to Spain. Playing in La Liga has always been one of his main dreams.
Just like man united, Barcelona already started working on their summer transfer plans. According to Mundo Deportivo, Rashford looks like a better fit for them than Luis Díaz, who would cost no less than €80 million. Also, Díaz would compete directly with Raphinha, who played very well this season.
Since man united already put a clear price on Rashford, Barcelona might start direct talks with the English club. They want to reach a deal that fits their financial limits. Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta still faces money troubles, and that could delay or stop many of their summer targets.
Rashford scored six goals and gave three assists in the Premier League this season, including two goals and two assists with Villa during just over half the season. These numbers might not push Aston Villa to pay €48 million to buy him for good. That gives Barcelona a better chance to step in and try to sign him on their own terms.
