Former Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton, known for his aggressive behaviour on the field, now faces serious allegations for an incident at home. He is accused of kicking his wife, Georgia Barton, in the head during an argument while drunk, according to Westminster Magistrates Court.
The 42-year-old former player, who also played for Queens Park Rangers, is accused of assaulting his wife in June 2021. The court heard that Joey Barton pushed Georgia to the ground before kicking her in the head during a drunken dispute at their home.

Georgia suffered a swollen forehead and a nosebleed after the incident, as reported by “The Guardian.” The prosecution claims that friends of the couple had to step in and pull Barton away to prevent things from escalating, after Barton threatened to fight Georgia’s father and brother over a disagreement.

Joey Barton has denied the accusations that he kicked his wife in the head during their argument at home while intoxicated. He was summoned to court to answer for the complaint, in which his wife claims he assaulted and kicked her in the head during the altercation in June 2021.
Barton spoke in court, stating that they had a small argument, which became heated, but a friend stepped in to help calm the situation. He insisted there was no physical violence involved. Barton further denied the claims, saying, “If I had kicked her in the head, the damage would have been much worse than what’s being claimed.” Investigations are still ongoing, with the next hearing set for March 25.
