Manchester City’s decision to sign Egyptian star Omar Marmoush during the current winter transfer window has led winger Jack Grealish to consider leaving the club in search of regular playing time for the remainder of the season.
City have already agreed on all financial and personal terms with Marmoush and are only waiting for the necessary permits to finalise the deal with Eintracht Frankfurt. Pep Guardiola has expressed confidence in the Egyptian star, who has been in excellent form in the German Bundesliga since the start of the season.
This decision from Guardiola and the City management could push Grealish to seek a move elsewhere. Even before Marmoush’s arrival, Grealish has struggled to secure a starting role, as Guardiola often relies on Belgian winger Jeremy Doku on the left flank. This has relegated the former Aston Villa star to a substitute role in many matches.
According to reports from the British newspaper The Sun, the English international is considering five offers from different clubs to ensure consistent playing time this winter. He is reportedly concerned about being sidelined permanently once Marmoush joins the squad.
The report adds that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Inter Milan, and Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Grealish. The player himself is open to the idea of leaving the Etihad Stadium and exploring a new challenge, despite Guardiola’s belief in his ability to regain form in the future.

Grealish’s recent performances have seen a noticeable decline. Out of the 20 matches he has been selected for, he has started only 11. He has scored just one goal this season, which came in an 8-0 FA Cup victory over Salford, a team from the second division. That goal was his first after a year-long drought.
When Will Omar Marmoush Join Manchester City?
Manchester City have yet to officially announce the Marmoush signing or confirm the date of his presentation. However, Frankfurt have already acknowledged the negotiations for their player’s transfer. Marmoush was absent from their recent match against Borussia Dortmund, where he appeared to bid farewell to the fans after the final whistle.
British media outlets report that Marmoush is expected to arrive in Manchester within the coming days. He will undergo standard medical tests before signing his contract with City. The player is currently waiting for a work permit in England, alongside the completion of other formalities related to the transfer process.
