More challenges seem to be in store for Egyptian Omar Marmoush as he begins his journey with Manchester City, a club he officially joined during the last winter transfer window for 70 million euros from Eintracht Frankfurt, Germany.
As reported by the “Sport Skida” website, Manchester City will only be able to register three players from the five new signings made this winter for the Champions League squad for the current season.
Manchester City doesn’t have enough space on their official list for the European competition, which must be submitted by February 6 at the latest to UEFA, meaning the club will have to leave two of their new signings off the list for the Champions League.
The English giants spent around £175 million during the last winter window to bring in four new players: Omar Marmoush, Abdulkadir Khosanov, Vitor Reis, and Nico Gonzalez. They are also set to add young talent Claudio Echeverri from River Plate in Argentina.

An unexpected crisis awaits Omar Marmoush.
Pep Guardiola is likely to choose Marmoush, Abdulkadir Khosanov, and Nico Gonzalez for the Champions League squad, with Reis and Echeverri expected to miss out on the European roster.
However, some fans are concerned about the potential surprises Guardiola may have in mind when selecting his final list, possibly leaving Marmoush out of the Champions League squad.
These worries are understandable, especially considering Guardiola’s history with African players throughout his managerial career. He has had well-known conflicts with figures like Samuel Eto’o and Yaya Toure and controversially excluded Riyad Mahrez early on during his time at Manchester City.
Marmoush has featured in two matches for the Sky Blues since joining the club but has yet to score a goal, with a total of 146 minutes played. His most recent appearance came in a heavy 1-5 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League.
