Spanish club Barcelona are closely monitoring the possibility of signing English striker Marcus Rashford, 27, from Manchester United during the current winter transfer window in 2025.

Rashford has not played a single minute in Manchester United’s last nine matches across all competitions. Reports suggest his exclusion is due to a serious disagreement with the team’s new manager, Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim.

Many expect Rashford to leave Manchester United this month. The England forward has been linked in the media with moves to major clubs like AC Milan, Galatasaray, and Barcelona, who are keen to strengthen their attack with a new striker.

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, reportedly met with Rashford’s representatives on Tuesday in Lisbon, Portugal, as reported by Spanish journalist Toni Juanmartí from the daily Sport.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano also commented on the matter via his official account on the social platform “X”, saying: “Barcelona are interested in Rashford, and the player is open to the idea, but it depends on outgoing transfers.”

Romano highlighted the need for Barcelona to offload players such as defender Eric García and forward Ansu Fati to secure the funds required to bring in Marcus.
