In the Champions League round of 16, Real Madrid will face Manchester City for the fourth consecutive year, with six players from the Spanish side at risk of missing the second leg due to yellow card suspensions.

The first leg between Real Madrid and Manchester City will be held at the Etihad Stadium on February 11 or 12, while the second leg will take place at the Bernabeu on February 18 or 19. Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, will have to be cautious with some of his key players, as six of them are on the verge of suspension.

The only player from Manchester City in a similar situation is Ruben Dias, who also faces suspension if he collects another yellow card.

The players’ yellow card counts won’t be cleared until the semi-finals of the Champions League. This rule means that Real Madrid’s players must play carefully in the first leg to avoid missing the crucial second leg in Madrid.

Both teams advanced to the round of 16 after finishing top of their respective groups. Real Madrid qualified in first place with 15 points, while Manchester City secured their spot with 11 points in second place.

Real Madrid are the defending Champions League winners after beating Borussia Dortmund in the 2023-24 final at Wembley Stadium in London. With so much on the line, both teams are gearing up for an exciting and intense tie.
