Tottenham Hotspur secured a hard-fought victory on Sunday against Manchester United, winning 1-0 in the 25th round of the 2024-2025 English Premier League.
The match took place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, in front of nearly 60,000 fans, with English referee Peter Banks in charge.
The only goal of the game came from English international playmaker James Maddison in the 13th minute of the first half. Maddison scored after following up on a rebound from Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The 28-year-old Maddison now has 10 goals for Tottenham this season across all competitions. The Three Lions star also has six assists from 32 matches.
Tottenham continue to reap victories
This marks Tottenham’s second consecutive win in the Premier League, following their 2-0 victory over Brentford in the previous round. Under Australian coach Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham continue to build momentum, taking their points tally to 30 and moving up to 12th place.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s struggles continue. This defeat marks their 12th loss in the current Premier League season, leaving the Red Devils in 15th place with just 29 points.
In other matches from the same round on Sunday, Liverpool defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1. The Reds remain at the top of the table with 60 points.
Liverpool’s goals came from Colombian Luis Diaz in the 15th minute and Egyptian Mohamed Salah in the 37th minute from a penalty. Wolverhampton’s only goal was scored by Brazilian Matheus Cunha in the 67th minute.
On Saturday, seven matches took place in the 25th round of the Premier League. The most notable result saw Manchester City, the defending champions for the last four seasons, thrash Newcastle United 4-0. Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush stole the show with a hat-trick.
Arsenal also secured a tough 2-0 away win against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. The London side continue to chase Liverpool, sitting second with 53 points compared to the Reds’ 60.
